Flagler County Sheriff’s Deputies shopped for the holidays with local children at Target at Town Center during the annual “Christmas with a Deputy” program Friday night. Almost 100 children, nominated by Sheriff’s Office members and Flagler County School District staff, participated in the event which assists families in need. The children were able to purchase gifts for the holiday from donations to the program made by the community and employees of the Sheriff’s Office. “This is one of the favorite things that our deputies look forward to each year,” said Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre. “This is really about these deputies giving back to the community and the kids love it.” Brett Crum with Target’s Executive Team Loss Assets Protection Program added that, “Target is proud to be a partner in this event. Our team associates work very hard to ensure that the youngsters have a pleasant experience and that they leave with some warm memories.” Other departments also participating included the Flagler Beach and Bunnell Police Departments and the Florida Wildlife Commission.
