Flacco says he is a Raven for life, even without a new contract (Photos)

Baltimore Ravens impending free agent quarterback Joe Flacco said he is optimistic about getting a new contract from the Ravens.

Flacco won the Super Bowl MVP and threw 11 touchdown passes to zero interceptions this postseason. And after the Super Bowl win, he let owner Steve Bisciotti know that he wants to be paid.

Flacco said that before the season, Bisciotti said that if one day came that he and the team won the Super bowl, Flacco could "go beat on Bisciotti's desk and really put it to him."

And that's what Flacco plans to do. Plus, Bisciotti even mentioned that Flacco boosted his leverage this postseason with the team's success.

The Ravens are expected to make Flacco their franchise tag player before the start of free agency in March, if a long-term deal cannot be reached. And that franchise tag has a tentative pay at $20.5 million dollars for next season.

"I'm a Raven for life. That's the way I see it," said Flacco, who will be in Disney World in Florida today for the annual day-after-Super Bowl parade.

"I'm a Joe Flacco fan. I've been a Joe Flacco fan," said Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who is retiring. "To do what he did today, that's what we always see."
