Fizzy Yoga, no it's not a drink, but it is something that actress Kim Cattrall, the star of “Sex and the City,” claims saves her life. Fizzy Yoga is the best workout for her as she get older, reveals the 57-year-old actress who played the very promiscuous Samantha Jones on HBO's hit series.
According to US Weekly, Cattrall is not that concerned with cardio in a workout today as much as she is with doing more “intense stretching.” She said:
"As I get older, I find that cardio is less important to me," she said. "What I want to do more of is intense stretching. I'm not worried about injuring myself because a regular yoga instructor isn't versed in the way of the body like a trained physio [instructor] is."
While Fizzy Yoga is really physioyoga, which consists of practitioners doing a number of moves that combine yoga with physical therapy. It is done in a way that can either heal injuries or help to prevent injuries. New York-based Fizzy Yoga instructor Diana Zotos said in a recent interview:
"When I meet someone for the first time, I do a physical therapy evaluation," Zotos said. "Then we customize a yoga program around that. It targets deficits, will strengthen muscles that are weak and stretch muscles that are tight, while focusing on the core."
Cattrall admits that she did vigorous cardio workouts when she was getting ready for each "Sex and the City" season and she did the same thing for the two movies that were spawn from that series. She said that during filming on both the movie sets or for the series, her work days were so long that all she could do was come home and collapse on the weekends. Now it's the fizzy yoga that keeps her in the shape she is in, but more than that, it keeps her feeling good!
