Poetry Consorts of Central Colorado and Salida ArtWorks present Birds of a Feather performance poetry at the Salida Steam Plant Paquette Gallery on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Featured poets from across Western Colorado include Colorado Book Award finalists, Wendy Videlock (Grand Juction) and Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer (Placerville), also known as the Word Woman; poet and astronomer, Danny Rosen (Fruita); former San Francisco Beat Poet, Jack Mueller (Ridgeway); and San Miguel County Commissioner, Art Goodtimes (Norwood). These talented poets bring poetry performances to Southern Colorado, reminiscent of Salida’s Sparrows Poetry Festival (2001-2007), that will captivate the hearts and minds of the audience for this celebration of the spoken word. Organizers also hint at the possibility of a few surprise performances, as well. There will also be an open mic of one minute per poet. Admission is by donation and the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Books by the performing poets may be purchased and there will be a cash bar.
