Summer is winding down, the first day of school for Aurora is August 17.  There is still plenty of time to do things with your dog.  Here are the top five things to do in Colorado before summer ends.

Off-Leash Parks

Off-leash parks are still open.  There are many to choose from including Cherry Creek State Park, Grandview Dog Park and Sand Creek Greenway Trail.  Be sure and bring water for everyone in the hiking party (especially the puppy).

Spa Day

Possibly a vacation without the dog may be in the future.  If so, treat him or her to a stay at the Denver Metro Dog Kennel.  The platinum package includes doggie massage, fat free frozen treats, and three hours in the heated pool.  Many of the packages include catered meals, raised beds, in room DVD’s and a 24 hour web-cam for your comfort.

Dinner Time

Want to take your pooch with you when you chow down?   Several dog friendly restaurants are in Aurora.  Chipotle Mexican Grill has patio seating in any of their thirteen locations.

Calendar Competition

Have your dog take a pose and enter it into the annual Denver Dumb Friends League Photo Contest for their 2011 Calendar.  Entry deadline is August 15, 2010 so hurry!

Pet Expo

On September 25 at the Phil Long Expo Center in Colorado Springs, take your dog to the annual Colorado Springs Pet Expo for beauty treatments, treat tastings and doggie fashions.

Happy Summer and remember to subscribe for more events, tips and information.
