Valentine’s Day is sneaking up on all of us, and pretty soon it’ll be too late to book what your Valentine really wants.  Say goodbye to flowers and chocolates. They are so overdone on Valentine’s Day.  Everyone who has all they want except time for romance.  This year impress your Valentine with a romantic B&B getaway.  Who says the way to the heart is through the stomach? The best way to win your Valentine’s heart is to whisk him or her away on a romance filled escape. 

As a Boston B&B expert, I am often asked for my advice on favorite B&Bs. There are so many within a 3-hour driving distance to Boston, it’s hard to suggest just a few.  However, for Valentine’s Day, I’ve taken a more national look, and chosen five that ideal choices from coast to coast that will be assured to fill the romance bill.

The Pitcher Inn, Warren, VT:  This quintessential Vermont inn offers beautifully themed rooms, not one but two restaurants (one fine dining, one more casual) and nearby skiing at Sugarbush Resort and Mad River Glen.  Check out the new lower level, totally renovated after Hurricane Irene washed through.  Gorgeous murals, hand forged doors and hardware and stone work were accomplished by local artisans.  Worth the splurge.  Call (802) 496-6350 for reservations.
