Made In America lead singer Craig Zeolla said on Oct. 26 in an exclusive interview with Long Island MMA Examiner that making his band's debut album has been a great experience and different than anything he has done in the past.
Made In America has been busy touring behind the album, but Zeolla kindly took a few minutes from his schedule to answer questions about the past, present and future of the band. Here's what he had to say:
Q. Your band released its debut album earlier this month. If you can, talk a little bit about the album and how how the experience been for you all?
Zeolla: Making this album has been a great experience for me. It was also very different than anything I have recorded in the past. This album was relatively easy to make in that the songs are very much a reflection of my own life. I drew from personal experiences and struggles that I believe the everyday person is faced with.
I consider myself very optimistic and determined. I believe this came out in the music. I wanted to express through my songs the idea that you can accomplish anything if you put your heart and soul into it. I was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to record a professional album and work with amazingly talented musicians. This has been an experience I will never forget, and it's only the beginning.
Q. Any immediate touring plans?
Zeolla: I plan on playing Ricks Rising Stars in mid November at Revolution Bar. And hope to play all over the country soon after that. Right now we are pushing the single “All my money” and putting out feelers to see where our audience is. Once we get an idea of where the song is catching we will build shows around those specific areas, which I hope is everywhere!
Q. How would you describe your sound?
Zeolla: I would describe our sound as guitar driven rock. However, there are elements of pop and country in the songs. I have always been a huge fan of bands like Bon Jovi, and Foreigner and I believe they mastered the art of writing anthems. The songs on this album to me are anthems. That’s what we set out to do, and that’s what we accomplished. These are songs that you can sing along to and get excited about. They will definitely get stuck in your head.
Q. What is the inspiration behind the songs?
Zeolla: Made in America is a band with a mission. When we started writing I already had a vision as to what kind of sound and vibe I wanted. My song writing partner and producer, Cass Dillon, brought out the best in me as a singer and songwriter. We were able to allow the concept to come to life and that felt extremely rewarding.
Q. Where can fans check you out online?
Zeolla: Fans can check us out on Facebook, Soundcloud, and Reverbnation. We also have a website that is being built and will be up soon. Check out Facebook for news and updates! I’d like to thank everyone who helped Made in America along the way and believed in us. I am so proud of these songs and I hope they inspire you as much as they’ve inspired me. Stay tuned.
