According to a March 30 tweet from Eruption Clothing Inc., the extreme sports and lifestyle clothing brand has just released a series of unique, head-turning designs that are sure to be top-sellers in the MMA community.
Eruption Clothing Inc., an extreme-sports brand based out of Orange County, Calif., is sweeping the nation with its innovative approach to MMA apparel.
Eruption Clothing CEO Gwen Adler Legge, who has been overseeing the company since 2009, has been busy working to expand the brand, but she kindly took a few minutes from her schedule to discuss the new happenings in her business.
Here's what she had to say:
Q. Eruption seems to have come a long way in a short amount of time. A lot of MMA fans know about Eruption from 'Cyborg' Santos wearing your gear after her Gina Carano fight. Was that the moment where you would say you really hit it big and began to take off?
Legge: No. That did not really do anything for Eruption. I was a brand new company then...There was a little exposure.
Q. That was a huge fight in the realm of women's MMA. Since you say sponsoring 'Cyborg' for it didn't do much for you, what kind of return is typical for sponsoring a fighter? And why would it be worth it for a company to sponsor a fighter?
Legge: To get national exposure on television only, but there is more than that. You have to keep getting yourself in the limelight.
Q. How do you decide which fighters to sponsor?
Legge: Very carefully now. I am in a lot of industries, all Extreme/Action sports now. I took my branding in other industries, like Motorsports.
Q. What kind of things do you have in the works for Eruption for this year?
Legge: Getting into the military, U.S. and abroad. I will be donating back to PX and also the military.
