Five Pet Place was founded by Micheal Ostrofsky in Mission San Jose, California, after he attempted to furnish his picturesque home with beautiful furnishings for his five cats that matched the exquisite furnishings for him and his wife. After a hectic search, Ostrofsky could not find anything that was appropriate for the splendor he was attempting to create. So he made the cats’ furnishings by himself.
The more he thought about the cat market, the more he thought that the world needed the quality products that he was capable of providing. So last May, Michael Ostrofsky launched Five Pet Place, a privately held design house that creates and sells a unique collection of Pet Accessories for the Home.
Believing in manufacturing his product from goods produced in the United States, Mr. Ostrofsky uses as many US suppliers as possible. Unfortunately his top-of-the-line cat products ordinarily are found in the homes of higher income individuals. Michael wants to make his products more affordable for all cat owners.
Therefore, Five Pet Place is looking into reducing the cost of their goods substantially by seeking exported woodworking goods; premade products that could reduce his beautiful products by 60-80% yet retaining the quality that is so important to Michael. This way the designs driven by his five cats can grace the homes outside of the San Francisco East Bay area – or Australia – where his products are quite popular!
Napa, Sabrina, Lucy, Sparky and Paint were the five cats that that inspired the young founder. He would observe, measure and coordinate the accessories based on the activities and characteristics of his cats. Ostrofsky sought the unique qualities that would make each product he created something that would appeal to the five different personalities that his cats possessed based on their daily needs.
The six products that Five Pet Place creates are their Food and Water Server, Litter Tray, Litter Cabinet, Scratching Pad, Scratching Pot and the Window Bed. These products are developed with wainscoting and crown molding making them not only unique but beautiful. They can be constructed in a variety of colors, too. This could just be the beginning – only time will tell!
Not only does the creator of these fine goods create them with quality, decorative wood products, but the bowls for his Food and Water Server are porcelain because he does not want to introduce plastic or stainless steel to felines because these products have proved detrimental to a cat’s health. Everything this man does is top notch!
Five Pet Place began as a producer and supplier of top-notch products for cats. His goal, moving into the future is that more cat lovers be able to have his superior quality goods for a reasonable cost. When he succeeds, and no doubt he will, Five Pet Place will be a force to be reckoned with – you just wait and see!
