Five Oregon Ducks, two Oregon State Beavers invited to 2013 NFL Combine

The NFL published its annual list for players invited to the NFL Combine on Thursday, and the state of Oregon was well represented, with five players from the Ducks and two players from the Beavers making the cut.

The combine, held each year to give NFL teams a chance to gather information on potential draftees, will be held Feb. 20-26 in Indianapolis. Fans wanting a chance to see how Oregon players do at the various physical challenges can tune in to the NFL Network, which runs continuous coverage during the combine.

While National Signing Day grabbed most of the headlines on Wednesday and Thursday as teams welcomed in players from the high school class of 2013, the NFL Combine will give players in the collegiate class of 2013 (and some early exits from the NCAA) to show off their skills.

While there weren't too many surprises as to who did not get invited to the combine from the state of Oregon, there was one definite eyebrow-raiser: Oregon linebacker Michael Clay, who recorded 89 tackles in 2012 despite missing two games.

Here's the list of players invited to the combine from Oregon and Oregon State, along with their projected draft stock from NFLDraftScout.com:

Oregon Ducks:

Oregon State Beavers:

  • Markus Wheaton, WR (2nd round)
  • Jordan Poyer, DB (1st-2nd round)
