Five of the coolest gadgets unveiled at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show

Every year in Las Vegas, the Consumer Electronics Show premiers all of the newest and innovative gadgets (electronics) for the upcoming year. This year it was held from January 10 – 13; here are is a brief look into some of the coolest gadgets unveiled at the CES for 2012.

Tobii/Lenovo Eye tracking laptop.

Tobii Technology has teamed up with Lenovo and come out with a laptop that you don’t have to use a mouse – or a keyboard – with. You just need your eyes. When you first sit down, you have a thirty second calibration test that consists for following five dots with your eyes. Once you’re done, the laptop will do anything that you want it to, as long as you’re using your eyes; for instance, if you look at an icon, it will pull up information about that icon. If you are reading, it tracks your reading and scrolls as you need it to. It’s another way to interact with your laptop, and should be ready for “professional applications within two years with consumer applications to follow.”

This television will be out later this year. It comes with embedded cameras that have facial recognition so that wherever you are sitting, you will get the best 3D view. Oh, and you can forget the 3-D glasses; just watch it like you would watch any TV. It starts at roughly $11,000.

The mRobo will turn from a speaker into a dancing human form (18”tall) with a speaker in it as soon as you press play. It has pre-programmed dance movements and routines, but is capable of analyzing beats to “virtually” any genre and can get down with any beat.

Just how healthy are you? This ring measures your ECG, blood oxygen levels, your pulse, and your stress levels. Just slip the ring on, and watch your stats.
