Dave & Buster's in Times Square
Do New Yorkers dare to head to hectic Times Square? For those daring enough to head to the notorious location of the ball drop, there is Dave & Buster's right in Times Square. Located on 42nd Street, the popular venue is hosting a party for New Year's Eve. The celebration include a five-hour open bar, dancing and games along with broadcasting of the ball drop. Minors under 21 are permitted to attend with an adult over 25. Party-goers can enter between 7:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. ET or 12:15 a.m. and 1 a.m. with nobody admitted during the ball drop. After midnight, entry is just $35 with earlier general admission tickets starting at $125.
Best Buy Theater on Broadway
Best Buy Theater is also located within Times Square with similar entry constraints based on the ball drop. Entry is available for those 18 and over as well as those 21 and over. Party people over 21 can also pay a bit extra for access to the premium open bar from 9:00 p.m. To 1:00 a.m. or opt to buy drinks from the cash bar. The party at Best Buy Theater on Broadway includes a DJ, huge dance floor live broadcast of the NYE 2013 Times Square countdown, party favors and more. There is also a VIP room with added perks and reduced admission after 12:30 p.m. General admission starts at $65 per person, depending on the entrant's age and party choices.
Webster Hall on NYE
Nothing is more exciting than ringing in the New Year at New York City's notorious Webster Hall. The 2013 New Year's Eve Ball promises to be more outrageous than ever. For over 127 years, people have been flocking to Webster Hall to experience the ultimate party zone at American's first nightclub. People with be partying from 8:00 p.m. through 9 a.m. and must be 19 to enter and 21 to drink. Known as the mother of all parties, this is a venue to visit anytime of the night or wee hours of the morning. It's never too late to party at Webster Hall with after hours entry after 3:30 a.m.
Pera Soho in NYC
Head to Pera Soho for New Year's Eve dinner and cocktails or New Year's Day brunch. On New Year's Eve, there are seating times at 9:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. with an open bar, cocktails and a DJ available. Co-owner Burak Karacam told Examiner that on New Year's Eve the "venue transforms itself into more of a stylish supper club." On New Year's Day, brunch is from 11:00 a.m. through 4 p.m. with a price fixe brunch menu for $21 and unlimited brunch cocktails for $19.
Party at Home
When in doubt, plan an impromptu party at home. Grab some champagne, chocolate and make a fast pot of pasta with sauteed mushrooms and olive oil. Use what you have on hand to create a party vibe. Make confetti from old newspapers. Use the colorful pages to create party hats. Call a few close friends to see if they were procrastinating, too. Put on black slacks, a sharp shirt or a sparkling tank top. Messy hair looks great swept up with a glittering hair accessory. Watch the ball drop in Times Square on television. Catch it on ABC with coverage starting at 8:00 p.m. ET that includes stars such as Jenny McCarthy, Fergie and Ryan Seacrest as hosts with Pitbull, Flo Rida, Carly Rae Jepsen and many others performing.
