Five Horses Tavern

See also

Usually when I dine at taverns that proudly boast the infinite number of beers they have on tap, I don't expect a decent wine list, let a lone a decent glass of wine. But, the Five Horses Tavern in Somerville's festive Davis Square definitely exceeded my expectations.

They actually have a great wine list and offer 12 different wines by the glass. And the best part of all? They are all under $8! To a gal on a budget, that's pretty sweet.

They also offer six different 1/2 bottles of wine, ranging between $14 and $16. Seriously, in some places, you can pay $14 just for a glass. I only wish I had read the entire drink menu before placing my order. I treated myself to a glass of Malbec from Argentina's Maipe region. And while it was quite delicious, I wish I'd treated myself to a 1/2 bottle instead. Oh well. Next time!
