Five healthy snacks you can take anywhere

Five of some of the healthiest snacks available are apples, bananas, carrots, nuts and seeds. These five fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds have special vitamins, minerals and fiber that our bodies need.

Apples can help regulate your blood sugar level. People who eat apples as their snack will fill fuller longer than someone who chooses an unhealthy processed pre-packaged snack. An apple a day keeps the doctor away! See Benefits from using apple cider vinegar for more information on the benefits of apples.

Bananas are a potassium rich food with fiber that helps fight against heart disease and reduces the risk of stroke. Anyone who has problems with Charlie horses/muscle spasms in lower legs can eat a few bananas a day for several days and the much needed potassium that the banana replenishes will help get rid of the Charlie horses.

Carrots are a good resource of beta-carotene, they help fight against cardiovascular disease, and cancer prevention. They are delicious raw, steamed, or juiced.

Nuts are great snack foods, you can grab a handful and eat them on the go. Nuts are healthy to eat and can help reduce your weight by eating a few ounces a day as your healthy snack food choice.

Seeds such as sunflower seeds are a great source of vitamin E, fiber, and protein. For more information go to: Benefits of eating sunflower seeds.
