Five great places for Eggs Benedict

After reading my last article, you may be wondering, "Where are some places to get some great Eggs Benedict in this town?"  Whether you're looking for the classic thing or a new take on this old favorite, here are some great bets:

Canopy (3939 Montrose), the Montrose sister restaurant to Shade in the Heights, has one of this city's best loved Sunday brunches.  Try the Buttermilk Fried Pork Loin as well as the Eggs Benedict, which are served on chive sweet potato pancakes instead of english muffins..

Brasil (2604 Dunlavy) is a classic Westheimer coffee shop during the day/bar at night where you can often find some great live music.  Enjoy classic eggs benedict, one of their better breakfast selections, along with a wide variety of coffees.

Farrago (318 Gray), located among the late night midtown scene, might be the best place to catch brunch if you're still in the area after a long night.  Serving 11-3 Saturdays and Sundays, their "Cajun" Benedict, served on a biscuit, features a crawfish cream sauce.

Rainbow Lodge (2011 Ella) features a decadent Short Rib Benedict, in keeping with its hunting/meat centric theme.  Start off your Sunday with this decadent giant, served on Texas Toast with 99 cent mimosas, while enjoying their gorgeous garden.

The Hobbit Cafe (2243 Richmond) is best known for whimsically named sandwiches and generous portions.  Weekend brunches (different from "second breakfast" and "elevenses"), feature a salmon and spinach Benedict.
