While deciding where to go next here in Lansing, my thoughts drifted to restaurants and bars that I wish I could go to, if they only existed in our world.
No, I'm not talking about the places in my head, I mean fictional eateries and pubs we see on the screen or read about. I threw together a list of the Top Five Fictional Restaurants I wish I could visit, enjoy.
5. The Three Broomsticks - Harry Potter
What would a list of fictional places be without at least one Harry Potter reference? The Three Broomsticks is known for its butterbeer. Just stay away from gangly gingers offering free candy and jailbait Hogwart's students.
4. Rotating Restaurant atop The World's Largest Ball of Twine -Sam & Max Hit the Road
A massive ball of twine is one thing, but a restaurant on top that rotates? I'm there.
3. The Pie Hole - Pushing Daisies
Ned, the Pie Maker, was famous for his pies, which were made super tasty thanks to his ability to make old fruits fresh again (insert joke about somebody's career). Toss in the always cute Chuck and Olive, and I'll never want to leave. Can I get that a la mode? And a coffee. Black.
2. The RR Diner - Twin Peaks.
Speaking of coffee, pie and a cute wait-staff. Sure, there may be some crazy things going on around Twin Peaks, but it is hard to turn down a great cup of coffee and some tasty cherry pie. (NOTE: you can visit the restaurant that was used for this location, but unless Agent Cooper is sitting at the counter talking about Tibet, it ain't the same thing).
1. Milliways, the Restaurant at the End of the Universe - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
What else could top this place? You get to watch the end of the universe while you eat dinner and sip Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters. Mingle with time travelers and gods alike. Oh, and you can meet the meat before you eat it.
There you have it, the Top Five Fictionial Restaurants I wish I could visit. Make sure to also check out, the Five Fictional Restaurants I Would Skip.
