It is quite an honor to be called a professional photographer. There are so many good cameras out there these days and you would think that if you pay enough money for a camera that says "Nikon" or "Canon" you could easily become a professional Wrong.

Step 1-The first way to become a professional photographer is to buy a DSLR camera. This type of camera stands for digital single lens reflex. What that means is that 'what you see is what you get" when you look through the viewfinder. This means you can easily take a picture without any heads or feet being cut off.

Step 2-Learn about the rule of thirds in art. This divides your picture into nine pieces; three down and three across. It tells you where you should place the important parts of your photo. Don't stick it right in the middle. That is boring. You are to place it where two of the lines crisscross each other.

Step 3- Read online or in magazines about the four most important elements of photography 1.aperture 2. f-stop 3.ISO 4. and shutter. The next article will be about these four elements.

Step 4- Go to galleries and art shows and look for the elements that were mentioned above. Talk to the artists if they are there and ask them questions. Remember, they were once just where you were and they know how it feels to be in the learning mode.

Step 5-Subscribe to photography magazines. There are at least five national ones that are from digital photography to outdoor photography. Choose a subject that is dear to your heart and there will be a photography magazine for it.

These five steps are a great start. Get that camera and with all of the information mentioned here, you have a great chance for success. When shooting digital, you can take hundreds of pictures without it costing you a dime. Don't be afraid to shoot a lot and often. Always have the camera with you and happy shooting.
