Five compelling reasons to catch the premiere of '19 Kids and Counting'

An all-new season of “19 Kids and Counting” premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 2 on TLC. The new episodes will be jam-packed with emotional journeys and unexpected surprises, as posted by the network on Discovery Press Web. The super-sized Duggar family has been in the news this week, so the new season is sure to deliver good ratings.

The biggest news involved two Duggar daughters. On Aug. 20, Us Magazine revealed that Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are expecting their first child, just 60 days after getting hitched. Last spring, Jill told ABC News that they both want “as many kids as God will give us.”

Jill’s younger sister, Jessa (21), has also been in the news. As posted by Hollywood Life on Aug 19, Jessa and Ben Seewald are now officially engaged. She recently posted a photo of her engagement ring on Instagram and wrote, “I’m engaged to the most amazing guy on earth. Every time I look down at the ring on my finger…it takes my breath away!”

With so many changes taking place in the Duggar family, the new season of “19 Kids and Counting” could be the best yet. Here are five compelling reasons to tune in on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

1. Jill’s wedding
When the last season came to a close, Michelle and Jim Bob gave their approval to Derick for Jill’s hand in marriage. The new season kicks off with a flurry of wedding plans, including dress shopping and cake tasting. “19 Kids and Counting” will air scenes from the wedding where more than 1,000 guests witnessed the beginning of Jill and Derick’s life together.

2. Jessa and Ben
In the new season of “19 Kids and Counting,” Jessa and Ben’s relationship continues to flourish. Ben makes a move to live closer to Jessa and the two help Derick’s mom as she bravely battles cancer.

3. Big Changes for Josh and Anna
Josh and Anna Duggar and their three children are living in Washington, DC, but they will still play a major role on the new season of “19 Kids and Counting.” They decide to make a few big changes and fans will get to see them unfold right before their eyes.

4. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar celebrate 30 years of marriage
Jim Bob and Michelle married on July 21, 1984. Their 30-year wedding anniversary will be featured on the all-new season of “19 Kids and Counting.” After 19 children and three grandchildren, this couple is still going strong.

5. The rest of the Duggar children
While the spotlight will shine this season on Jill and Jessa, the other 17 Duggar children will also be featured. Now that they are all older and becoming independent, fans can expect to see a changing family dynamic. However, look for the usual antics from Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn and adorable Josie, the Duggar’s youngest child.

The new season of “19 Kids and Counting” premieres at 9 pm (EST and PST) on Tuesday, Sept. 2 on TLC. The long-running reality series is set to celebrate its 150th episode, which is no easy feat in reality TV land.

In the meantime, fans can catch the Duggars reacting to encore airings of their favorite “19 Kids and Counting” episodes as part of TLC’s “Dishing with the Duggars.” Beginning Monday, Aug 25 and airing weekdays from 1-3 pm (EST and PST) for three weeks straight, viewers can go back in time with America’s favorite super-sized family as they laugh together and reminisce about some of their favorite moments, from births and holidays to clothing choices and family vacations.
