Five men, at least one of them armed, broke into a Cobb County home in attempt to rob it Tuesday morning.
But they were confronted by several residents - and two of the suspects ended up being beaten with a baseball bat.
Investigators said the men broke into the home, but they wouldn't say how.
"A fight, to say the least, took place between some of the victims and some of the suspects," police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
A neighbor called 911 and by the time officers arrived, two of the suspects were rendered immobile after being beaten with a baseball.
Both were transported to the hospital where one was treated and released.
Another two suspects were arrested as they attempted to flee in a vehicle, Sgt. Pierce said.
And a fifth suspect was arrested an hour later with the help of other agencies.
Mr. Imanuel Tyler, 20, of College Park; Mr. Victor Lopez, 19, of Lithia Springs; Mr. Devante Brown, 21, of College Park; Mr. Terrone Mays, 17, and Mr. Ricky Carrasquillo, 17, of Kennesaw, were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and burglary.
Anyone with information, which may assist detectives, is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
