Author of "Slim for Life: My Insider Secrets to Simple, Fast, and Lasting Weight Loss," Jillian Michaels has become famed as the tough trainer on "The Biggest Loser" whose bark is more effective than her bite (not that she's ever bitten anyone, but you never know with Jillian!). On August 26, Jillian visited "Live with Kelly and Michael" to show them how to get fit fast. With a few burps amidst the burpee exercises, Jillian demonstrated the keys to her workout wisdom.
Most of us have the desire to get fit - but we lack the time. Jillian emphasizes the importance of exercising multiple muscle groups, focusing on high intensity interval training. One such exercise, which she demonstrated for talk show hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, is the burpee. Here's how to do it:
- Begin by standing.
- Bend your knees and place your hands on the floor in front of your feet.
- Walk your hands into the position known as the plank position.
- Walk your hands back to a squat.
- Stand up.
