Fitness and weight loss 101

Fitness and weight loss in Minneapolis, as well as just about anywhere else, can range from mere simplicity to utterly impossible. Exercising can be extremely boring or a favorite hobby for the whole family. What many people fail to discover is how fun physical activity can be when the right activity is matched with personal interests.

Those who like outdoor activities need to find try hiking, jogging, snowshoeing, walking the family dog, rollerblading, biking, or a plethora of other activities that utilize outdoor spaces such as bike paths, hiking trails, state parks, etc.

For those who would prefer not to let the weather be a factor in their exercise routine, there are malls, schools, community centers, and fitness companies that offer space to people wanting to get in shape and keep it that way. Keep in mind there are televisions and headphone hookups on many cardio equipment at most gyms to help keep people interested in their workout.

It doesn’t matter how people choose to go about getting their daily physical activity, the important part is that they get it. It is important to shoot for at least 30-45 minutes of cardiovascular exercise most days of the week; so for those that try to utilize their 15 minute break to get their daily exercise in, make sure another 15-30 minute session follows up to complete the day! For best results it’s best to shoot for a minimum of 45 minutes of exercise at least five days a week with your heart hitting a range of 130-170 beats per minute. Also, keep in mind that having another person to exercise with increases chances of successfully sticking to an exercise regimen simply because there is another person that is relying on that extra push to get and stay fit.
