Golden fish is one of Feng Shui mascot figures, and a fish aquarium is often used to help improve Feng Shui in the home. Here are the benefits of having a fish aquarium and some of the details that require attention.
As a Feng Shui mascot figure, golden fishes not only represent good fortune, but also when combined with fresh flowing water, these golden fishes can help balance a good Qi field in our homes.
According to Feng Shui, everything in the world has its characteristic of five energies. The five energies are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth, and the positive producing cycle of the Five Energies is as the following:
Metal --> (produces) Water --> Wood --> Fire --> Earth --> Metal -->..
According to Feng Shui, the positive producing cycle of the Five Energies will create an auspicious Qi field in our living environment. An aquarium of course is associated with Water energy, and winter is associated with Water energy as well, so the aquarium is truly matched with winter’s Qi field.
Paying attention to some simple pointers can create a good Qi’s environment for you.
1. Use a round or rectangular shaped aquarium.
Why? Because the energy associated with the shape has either positive or negative impact on Water. A round shape is associated with Metal energy and a rectangular is associated with Wood energy. According to the positive producing cycle of the Five Energies, these two energies are both good for Water: Metal positively produces Water, and Water positively produces Wood.
So we prefer the round shaped aquarium because its Metal energy positively produces Water. And the rectangular-shaped one is also a good choice because its Wood energy get positive support from Water.
2. The number of fish is important
Have 1, 3, 4, 6 or 7 fishes in your aquarium. Chinese prefer even numbers because these numbers represent the balance of Yin and Yang, just like classical Chinese gates which always have two panels. Four or 6 fishes are good for Home Feng Shui.
3. Color matters.
I suggest black, blue or gray fish because these colors are associated with Water energy. They will help you with your career and will promote wealth. Gold or silver fishes are associated with Metal energy. They are also good for wealth.
The general Feng Shui principles above apply to any home. However, if you want to take advantage of advanced Feng Shui principles for displaying a fish aquarium to improve your Feng Shui, please send me an email with your birthday (year/month/date/time) and house or office information to ufengshui@gmail.com, I offer free consulting on displaying a fish aquarium by e-mail.
