Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 28th at 10am for the first U.S. date for the "Big 4 Festival" taking place in Indio, California on Saturday April 23.

The "Big 4" is made up of the four biggest names in Thrash Metal: Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Beginning last summer in Europe, the four bands embarked on a string of festival appearances that were capped off by the filming of and eventual DVD release of the Sonisphere Festival at Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia, Bulgaria. The DVD released was "The Big 4 Live from Sofia, Bulgaria" which at this time has gone 2x Platinum in the US and Australia.

Not announced yet if there will be more festivals or even a tour of the "Big 4" in the US, but that news will made known as soon as it becomes available. The last time Metallica did a tour of this magnitude was the "Summer Sanitarium Tour" in 2000, there were no Ohio dates on that tour, but three that took place in Kentucky, including one in Sparta, Kentucky just across the Ohio River.
