Novel to big screen adaptations have become a very regular occurrence and the latest story is a dystopian novel with a male lead. The upcoming action adventure film "The Maze Runner" is based on the best-selling young adult novel of the same name by James Dashner. The trailer for the film was just released by 20th Century Fox and reveals some changes from the original story and plenty of action and suspense.
The trailer is nearly two minutes long and begins with the opening scene of the book and the arrival of Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) into the unknown world of the massive maze. Thomas tries to remember who he is, but has no memory of his past and realizes all the answers lie inside the maze. Everyday the maze doors opens and the maze runners go inside searching for a way out for everyone.
However, Thomas soon learns that no one has ever survived a night in the maze. There are unknown monsters and evils inside. His past is linked to the maze and the mysterious dreams about the W.C.K.D. The trailer reveals that the things begin the change once Thomas arrives and then the first girl arrives at the maze, only to recognize him.
As Thomas begins to explore the maze, he encounters unexpected cliffs, monsters that live in shadows, lakes, and a constantly changing landscape. The 20th Century Fox film was directed by Wes Ball and will be released in theaters on September 19, 2014. The film also stars Will Poulter, Aml Ameen, Kaya Scodelario and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.
