First trailer for 'Gallowwalkers' shows a cursed Wesley Snipes vs. zombies

U.K. audiences got a look at "Gallowwalkers," which stars Wesley Snipes as a cursed cowboy, in 2012. U.S. audiences haven't been so horrified yet, but after sitting for some time quietly on the shelf, it looks like there's some movement, as on Tuesday the first trailer was released.

Here is the official synopsis, according to Wikipedia:

When a nun broke her covenant with God to save the life of Aman, her unborn son, he was cursed for life. As an adult, Aman (Snipes) has killed those who have crossed him. But his curse brings his victims back to life, and as the undead, they pursue him endlessly for revenge. Forever suffering this curse, Aman enlists Fabulos (Smith), a young gunman, to fight by his side against his undead victims

IMDB adds:

A cursed gunman (Snipes) whose victims come back from the dead recruits a young warrior to help in the fight against a gang of zombies.

It can be seen as a timely zombie movie, with the growing popularity of zombies based on movies like "Resident Evil" and television series such as "The Walking Dead."

Naturally, this isn't a new film. While it was released in the U.K. last year, it was filmed quite some time ago, since Snipes has been incarcerated in federal prison since Dec. 9, 2010, for tax evasion. He was sentenced to three years, but is scheduled for release on July 19, 2013.

Written and directed by Andrew Goth and Joanne Ray, Gallowwalkers is executive produced and produced by Jack Bowyer and produced by Courtney Lauren Penn, and Brandon Burrows of Boundless Pictures.

The film stars Wesley Snipes as Aman, Riley Smith as Fabulos, Tanit Phoenix as Angel, Kevin Howarth as Connor Foster, and Patrick Bergin as Marshall Gaza. There isn't a listed U.S. release date, yet. In addition, IMDB ratings show the film with a 6.6 star out of 10 rating from mostly U.K. moviegoers.
