Movie fans in Scottsdale were able to see Ryan Gosling on the big screen in Drive this weekend, but the actor is already hard at work on his next project. The Gangster Squad is set beginning in the 1940s, and it features a battle between the police and the mafia as they battle to keep them from taking over another city. The cast of the film also includes Sean Penn and Emma Stone, and it is being directed by Ruben Fleischer.
Gosling might be enjoying his career now, but he is already looking to a time away from the big screen. According to Digital Spy on Saturday, the actor recently said the following:
"I've been doing this since I was 12. I don't want to act much longer, I can't do one thing my whole life. I know there are only so many characters I'll be able to play. It will be over whenever the inspiration dries up."
As for Drive, he also had a few words to say about that film as well. He said the following:
"I love the violence. It's fascinating how primal it is. We didn't really concern ourselves with its authenticity. It was more of a symbol of my character's emotional landscape."
Fans have been buzzing about this actor and his work on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
"Drive" was ridiculous in all the right ways. Ryan Gosling will henceforth be referred to as RYAN GOSLING.
Drive can be seen in Scottsdale theaters now. The Gangster Squad is set for release in 2013.
