Pole sports part of the 2016 Olympics?
It could happen!
Hosted by Dancing With the Stars pro, Kym Johnson, the first inaugural Pole Fitness awards show, the Pole World News Awards, is taking place on Friday, March 21st 2014 at the prestigious Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in the theatrical heart of downtown Los Angeles.
Speaking to the popularity and significance of this fitness routine, as a result of Pole Fitness exploding in the last few years with more than 180,000 Pole Athletes in more than 70 countries, a movement to get Pole Sports into the 2016 Olympics is also currently underway.
And no, it's not "pole dancing" anymore says Eileen Shoals, Psy.D, L.M.F.T, co-founder of Pole World News. She says her magazine strives to present the beauty and mastery involved in pole dancing, and of course counter the people who still associate pole dancing with strip-clubs.
The awards show will be live streamed on UStream.com.
