Just hours ago Warner Bros. released a first look at the costume for The CW's new series "The Flash." Based on the DC Comic character, the red and gold costume was created by three time Academy Award-winner Colleen Atwood for "Alice in Wonderland," "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Chicago."

Grant Gustin (Glee) will portray Barry Allen, an assistant at the Central City Police Dept.'s Criminal and Forensic Science Division. After a freak accident at S.T.A.R Lab, Gustin becomes the fastest man alive. The superhero becomes known as The Flash in this "Arrow" spinoff series. Gustin's role started in two episodes of this season's "Arrow," the second being the episode in which he got his powers and the origin story for The Flash.

"The Flash" will also star Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order), Tom Cavanagh (Ed), Danielle Panabaker (Shark), Rick Cosnett (Vampire Diaries), Candice Patton (The Game) and Broadway’s Carlos Valdes.

The network has already started production on the new series
