Last week, anime publisher Aniplex of America announced that it would be releasing the first movie based on the “Persona 3” series, “Spring of Birth”, on Blu-ray in over 50 countries this May.

The “Persona 3” film trilogy is based on the “Persona 3” RPG video game, which was released in North America on the PlayStation 2 and PSP by Atlus USA. The film features animation production by AIC ASTA (Persona 4: The Animation) and the first film is directed by Noriaki Akitaya.

Aniplex of America will release the import Blu-ray of “Persona 3 the Movie: Spring of Birth” in both standard ($74.98) and collector’s ($99.98) editions starting on May 20, 2014. Both editions of the import Blu-ray will include Japanese voices with English subtitles and feature the Director’s Cut version of the film, with seven minutes of extra footage as well as the original theatrical version, audio commentary, trailers and commercials. The collector’s edition will also include an original soundtrack CD, exclusive box art, newly illustrated cover art, a 48-page deluxe booklet, 10 super P3 stickers and 4 key art illustration cards.
