First performers announced for Premios Juventud 2014

Summer has arrived and Univision's Premios Juventud is getting ready to kick off another steamy event as the first performers have been announced. The fan based award event is scheduled for Thursday, July 17 at University of Miami BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla.

It's first confirmed performers include this year’s top nominees and top bachata music singers Romeo Santos who has 12 nominations and Prince Royce with 11. Pitbull with three nominations apart from performing will be awarded the Ídolo de la Juventud (Youth Idol Award). New artists joining Premios Juventud as performers and nominees are Colombia's J Balvin who is vying for three awards will be joined by Farruko and Mexico's Luis Coronel with four nominations.

Mexican pop rock group Camila will return to the music limelight after almost two years of absence. They are also nominated in the new category My Favorite Lyrics for their new single "Decidiste Dejarme." Another Colombian performing is Carlos Vives, Mexican Espinoza Paz, Venezuelan Chino y Nacho, and new female artist Becky G with others to be announced as the event nears.

Premios Juventud is Univision Network's only award event that fans select from who will be in each category to voting for the nominees in each category via PremiosJuventud.com. The Latin award show now in its eleventh year honors the most popular Latin celebrities in music, sports, film, pop culture, and novelas (Spanish soap operas). It also recognizes two outstanding graduating seniors who this year once again each will receive a scholarship.

The winners will be announced during Premios Juventud live broadcast from Coral Gables, Fla. beginning at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central) with the celebrity carpet presentation followed by the award show at 8 p.m. Limited tickets for Premios Juventud are available for purchase at ticketmaster.com and additional information on Premios Juventud is available at univision.com.
