Movie fans in Scottsdale are waiting to see Tom Cruise back on the big screen. With Rock of Ages set for release in 2012, the actor has already started work on another film, One Shot. On Wednesday, Celeb Buzz shared the first photos from this film. Empire Online also reported some new details on the film on Thursday.Check out the new photos here.
One Shot is based on a novel by Lee Child, and in the film Cruise plays Jack Reacher. The cast also includes Jai Courtney, Richard Jenkins, Alexia Fast, and David Oyelowo. Lee Child spoke about Cruise's casting in an interview released by Empire Online on Thursday, and he said the following:
"I wasn't surprised [by Cruise's casting] because this was on the cards for a very long time... we've been dealing with his people for six years. Obviously, Tom Cruise doesn't match the physical description of Reacher in the books... but the movie is not going to match the book anyway. More than that though, which actor does match Reacher physically? What people forget is that Tom Cruise is quite possibly the best actor of his generation."
Before Tom Cruise will be seen on the big screen in One Shot, Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol and Rock of Ages will be released first. Fans have been buzzing about Cruise's casting as Reacher in this film. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
Tom Cruise has been cast to play Jack Reacher? That's no good. He is 100% too smiley to play Reacher.
One Shot will be released to Scottsdale theaters in February 2013.
