First North American Aston Martin Motorsports Festival set for August

North American’s first Aston Martin Motorsports Festival will be held August 29-31, 2014 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA. The event, hosted by RG-Aston Martin Racing (TRG-AMR) will not only provide visitors with the chance to see road and race cars up close, the weekend celebration will also feature Round Three of the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of North America, a “one-make race series designed for the sportsman driver.”

TRG-AMR will showcase the current lineup of race and track-day models with Aston Martin displaying examples from its current range of exciting road cars. The weekend will also feature Round Three of the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of North America, a “one-make race series designed for the sportsman driver.”

Present Aston Martin owners can to drive the famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit in their own street cars, while fans of the cars made famous by James Bond will be afforded a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride the prestigious course with a professional driver, including the exhilarating plummet down the famous ‘Corkscrew.’” Off-track, attendees will also have the opportunity to join a group cruise down stunning 17-Mile Drive. They will also be treated to live entertainment and a special gala dinner, featuring award-winning wines from Sonoma’s Adobe Road Winery.

TRG-AMR, founded in Petaluma, CA in 1993, has competed in the top levels of motor racing earning 4 series championships; four Rolex 24 At Daytona victories, a win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and a win at Petit Le Mans, not to mention 122 combined podium finishes in major North American sports car competition, (the 3rd-highest total in history and the most for a privateer team).

Danny Sullivan, winner of the 1985 Indy 500 will serve as the Aston Martin Motorsports Festival Grand Marshal.
