The annual drug- and alcohol-free New Year’s Eve celebration First Night Buffalo takes place Tuesday, December 31st from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, Franklin St. in downtown Buffalo. The event features fun for the entire family plus live entertainment and healthy activities from Independent Health.
Laser tag, amusement rides and “inflatable fun” takes place all night long in the Convention Center, with costumed characters such as Bob the Builder, Clifford, Wild Thing and Iron Man will be available for photos. For little ones ages 6 and under, the Toddler Zone will feature playhouses, rides and over-sized games.
Performers for the evening on the Multi-Cultural Stage include Orquesta Salsabor Band with the Latin Souls Dance Group, Rince na Tiarna, the Polish Heritage Dancers of WNY and Iroquois Social Dance. There will also be performances by Kevin McCarthy, Evan Young, and Peter Boie, Magician for Non-Believers, and Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics will also make an appearance.
There will also be health screenings throughout the evening and the Fitness for Kids Family Challenge, where families have a chance to win prizes.
Tickets for First Night Buffalo are $8 in advance at area Wegmans and $10 at the door; kids 2 and under are free. Find out more information at www.firstnightbuffalo.org.
