It's Valentine's Day in Chatswin, and just about everyone is going all out for the person in his or her life-- or the possibility of the person in his or her life. What should you expect from the relationships on Suburgatory on this very special episode? LA TV Insider Examiner was on set to bring you the scoop!
- GEORGE AND DALLAS:
"He's into it, he’s into her. He had his doubts in the beginning, but once he got into it, he’s pretty committed," Jeremy Sisto said to LA TV Insider Examiner when we were on set in Los Angeles.
George will drop the big bucks to snag a special reservation at an eighteen course Valentine's Day dinner by famed Chef Julio (guest star Michael Voltaggio), but the pressure of it being the most romantic holiday of the year may be a bit too much for Dallas (Cheryl Hines), which upsets plans and creates quite the separate evening after all.
"She’s, I guess, insecure because George is a little younger, so she gets some facial work, and it goes bad! So she disappears from me for Valentine’s Day, so I get drunk in a restaurant," Sisto said.
- TESSA AND RYAN:
"We go to this independent movie," Parker Young said of the storyline based on writer Anne Weisman's own experience seeing Finding Neverland with her now-husband.
"Her dialogue-- in the voice over-- is, ‘This is so boring; I feel so bad for Ryan', and she looks at me and I’m almost in tears because I love it so much. And I’m really hurt she doesn’t like it. We have to once again learn to fully accept the other person.”
It is yet another example of how different Tessa and Ryan's interests may be, but in a very sweet way, it causes Tessa to stop being so judgmental and to realize that other people's opinions count for something, too. Tessa basically has to bribe Ryan to see the movie in the first place, but she doesn't just call him stupid, or call it off, when he connects with it. They may be the best example of "opposites attract" on TV right now.
- FRED AND SHEILA:
A drop-in by Sheila's mother (guest star Mary Kay Place) provides for an unusual look at the kind of place from which uptight Sheila comes, as well as two very special dance numbers for Chris Parnell. Though Fred is known to be quite free with his body, perhaps surprisingly, neither dance is in the nude, but they're still fun in their own ways!
- MALIK AND LISA:
Malik (Maestro Harrell) isn't over Lisa (Allie Grant), and he has a plan to win her back on the most romantic holiday of the year-- in musical form. But it may not prove to be enough, and he'll have to enlist some outside help for part two of convincing Lisa he really does miss her most-- even more than he misses Sheila's chicken salad.
- NOAH AND JILL:
The Werners are nowhere to be found around the neighborhood, but it turns out there is a good reason for that. Things are rocky in their neck of Chatswin, as Noah (Alan Tudyk) is finding himself infatuated with another woman. And it's not who you might think!
"He falls in love with Carmen," Tudyk said, completely seriously.
Series creator Emily Kapnek added that Noah and Jill are about to embark upon a divorce that leaves her gaining a lot of weight and Noah attempting to bring Carmen (Bunnie Rivera) back into his life not just as his baby's nanny.
"She wants to do the "Eat, Pray, Love" tour, but she tells Dallas she can't get past the 'eat' part," Kapnek shared.
Suburgatory airs on ABC on Wednesday nights at 9:30 p.m. "Blowtox and Burlap" airs on February 13th 2013.
