First Look: 'The Following' takes another new victim (Photos)

Though newly re-deputized Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) came thisclose to taking down three of Joe Caroll's (James Purefoy) key acolytes in FOX's The Following just last week, he lost his chance when his FBI colleagues trusted the wrong people in local law enforcement. It turned out Carroll had someone who was really working for him planted in the department and who ended up on the investigation, so Emma (Valorie Curry) managed to escape with Joey (Kyle Catlett), while Jacob (Nico Tortorella) car-jacked a guy to get a bleeding Paul (Adan Canto) to safety. Unfortunately for Hardy, though, all of that was just one big diversion. What Carroll is really after right now is getting moved from his current prison to a new one.

In "Let Me Go," the next all-new episode, Carroll and his lawyer make a convincing argument for his transfer, stirring up emotions and drama and a media circus that further convolutes the process of just trying to get little Joey home. But what's worse is Emma and Joey meet up with another one of Roderick's men to learn he has a secret of his own. And there's another random female victim-- we're going to call her Megan 2.0-- to be used as leverage.

Hardy has to take time away from Carroll to try to save this random woman. Again. We're certainly sensing a pattern here, but we have to wonder if he-- or we-- should be reading into it. Is there a lesson for Hardy in these women being proxies for Claire (Natalie Zea) herself?

The Following airs on FOX on Monday nights at 9 p.m. "Let Me Go" airs on March 4 2013.
