The Nike Kobe 4 "Prelude" made its debut on Wednesday alongside the launch of Nike Kobe 9 in Los Angeles. A stark contrast to the dark Nike Kobe 3 "Prelude", the fourth shoe in the "Prelude Pack" is a celebration of Bryant's monumental 2009-10 NBA season, which included an All-Star Game Co-MVP award and his first NBA championship without the assistance of former teammate and rival Shaquille O'Neal.
Bryant's unbridled joy at that moment can be found on the abstract splatters of paint that can be found on the Nike Kobe 4 "Prelude". The upper features a purple base that is quickly interrupted splashes of different colors of paint each telling a story about Bryant's season. Some of the numbers and symbols can be found on the shoe include his scoring average, awards and many others. The shoe also features a gold swoosh with a red border all on top of a translucent outsole for maximum stylish effect.
The Nike Zoom Kobe 4 is famous for making the low-cut basketball a staple of many Nike Basketball sneakers. No longer relegated to a late-season and/or summer release, the low-cut became more of a viable option thanks to Bryant's endorsement.
The Nike Kobe 4 "Prelude" will be available on Dec. 28 at select Nike retail locations. Price has yet to be determined.
