At the launch of the Nike Kobe 9 in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Nike Basketball also previewed the Nike Kobe 1 "Prelude". As part of a larger "Prelude Pack", every Kobe Bryant signature shoe with Nike will return in consecutive starting with the Nike Kobe 1 "Prelude" on December 7 with a new pair droping each week leading up to the release of Nike Kobe 9 Elite "Masterpiece" on February 8.
The Nike Kobe 1 "Prelude" pays homage to Kobe Bryant's legendary 81-point game, which still stands as the second highest point total in a single game by one player. At the time, Bryant was wearing a home colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe 1 with a white upper and purple and black accents.
For the Kobe 1 "Prelude", there will be a black snake scale upper with a translucent outsole. The tongue, swoosh and inner lining features artwork inspired by Bryant's epic performance. The "81 points" are inscribed on the shoe's sockliner along with the year 2006 in Roman numerals.
Available in very limited quantities, the Nike Kobe 1 "Prelude" will drop at select Nike and Foot Locker locations for $200.00 a pair.
