MTV has brought in quite a few eyeballs thanks to some of its reality TV sensations, but a new sort of reality is about to take over the network. "World of Jenks" (premiering Monday, September 13 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern) is a new docu-series chronicling the actual lives of people battling tough situations -- from an MMA fighter to someone with autism to even a young woman who is homeless. This will not be the same sort of glossed-up entertainment you see on other shows, as 24-year old filmmaker Andrew Jenks (who guides us and also serves as executive producer) goes on a journey through lives that we don't always see on the small screen.
In a statement, MTV's President of Programming Tony DiSanto had this to say:
“Andrew Jenks is a maverick filmmaker with a great vision and a dynamic on-screen presence. Each week, Jenks immerses himself into a different person’s world and reveals unique slices of American life, uncovering incredible stories and people along the way. He has a rare ability to deeply connect with his subjects, making this series an intensely authentic and engaging viewing experience.”
Take a look at "World of Jenks" below, and stay tuned for more coverage of the show leading up to its premiere.
