First Look: 'Community' heads to an 'Inspector Spacetime' convention (Photos)

Last weekend, fans of NBC's Community gathered in Los Angeles for the first ever fan convention for their favorite show, and as if the show itself knew of the monumental event, it is delivering an episode devoted to a fan convention in just a few days. In "Conventions of Space and Time," the entire study group joins Abed (Danny Pudi) and Troy (Donald Glover) at InspecTiCon-- the annual Inspector Spacetime Convention.

This is only the third episode to air in the fourth season of Community, but already the group is spending more and more time off the Greendale campus. And this means encountering different-- but still crazy, quirky, and lovable-- characters. In this case, Jeff (Joel McHale) uses his uncanny resemblance to a very special character actor from Inspector Spacetime to hit on Lauren, an uber-fan (guest star Tricia Helfer), while Abed spends "too much time" (according to Troy) with his email pen-pal Toby (guest star Matt Lucas).

And if show diehard fans who love their favorite television series more than anything wasn't meta enough for you, Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Pierce (Chevy Chase) get swept into a focus group for a new version of Inspector Spacetime-- you know, because they're of certain demographics.

Community airs on NBC on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. "Conventions of Space and Time" airs on February 21 2013.
