"Bones" season 8 is heading to a courtroom—but not in the usual way—with episode 21, "The Maiden in the Mushrooms," for which FOX released promotional photos on Monday, March 18.
This "Bones" episode, for which you can see photos in the slideshow at the top of this article, takes Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to the show's version of "Judge Judy" when they investigate the show's producer's murder. The images show Brennan, Booth, Cam (Tamara Taylor), and Hodgins (TJ Thyne) at the crime scene, a dangerous D.C. neighborhood, with close-ups of Brennan examining the victim's skull and Hodgins looking at the mushrooms at the scene (hence the episode title). What's with all those mushrooms?
The rest of the photos show Booth and Brennan in Judge Trudy's (Gina Hecht) courtroom for a taping of the show as their investigation progresses in "The Maiden in the Mushrooms." Could Judge Trudy have killed her producer? Was it someone who had—or maybe hadn't because of a decision made by the victim—spent time in the courtroom before Judge Trudy?
Also in this episode, it's hard for Brennan to accept her daughter could be "average" when she's accused of biting a classmate. Meanwhile, Hodgins is going to be putting his Jeffersonian tools to good use when he chemically recreates Finn's (Luke Kleintank) special hot sauce.
