The one-minute video features a first look at official footage from the movie and only a brief glimpse of Katniss, as she walks through one of the war-torn districts. When asked if she is there to fight with the rebellion, she replies, "I am. I will."
The rest of the trailer focuses on Plutarch (the late Philip Seymour Hoffman) and President Coin (Julianne Moore) discussing whether or not Katniss is fit to help the rebellion. Plutarch argues she is the only one who can rally other citizens of Panem to their cause, while Coin worries that the Games have destroyed her.
The trailer also features our first on-screen look at Natalie Dormer as Cressida and our first look at Gale (Liam Hemsworth) in Mockingjay. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is noticeably absent from this trailer, though he was featured in the two previously-released propaganda-style teaser videos.
In this new video, we also see President Snow (Donald Sutherland) fighting to squash the rebellion, and outlawing any image of the Mockingjay symbol (which, through Katniss, has come to represent the rebellion).
The trailer for Mockingjay made its debut at San Diego Comic Con on Friday, and was available for viewing at select Best Buy stores over the weekend, before hitting the web late Sunday night. Hopefully, a significantly longer trailer will debut soon. (Perhaps at the MTV Video Music Awards in August? The network has previously hosted debuts for other trailers in The Hunger Games franchise.)
Mockingjay - Part 1 will debut in theaters this November. Part 2 will follow a year later, marking the finale to The Hunger Games movie franchise.
