First look at Sarah Jessica Parker's new Nordstrom shoe collection

“Sex and the City” may have made Manolo Blahnik a household name but the long finished television show can now be credited for creating an all new shoe star. Yes, it was announced via press release yesterday that Sarah Jessica Parker has just revealed her newest endeavor- a collection of impossibly cute shoes that every woman will want to add to her spring wardrobe.

But if you’re expecting impossibly outrageous shoes with an impossibly outrageous price tag to match you’re in for a sweet surprise. “I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come,” Parker said of the line in a press event.

The collection features more than two dozen styles, each named for a style reference that inspired the shoe. “Sex and the City” fans take note- there is a “Carrie” shoe in this collection.

"I've taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the 'Sex and the City' wardrobe, to references to classic styles from the late '70s and early '80s,” Parker said in the same statement about the new shoe line.

The shoes retail between $195 and $500. Shoe lovers never fear- you’re getting a lot of quality for that “affordable luxury” price. The shoes are made in Italy and were created hand in hand with Parker’s business partner George Malkemus, who is also CEO of Blahnik USA. The collection also includes a few handbags and a classic trench coat that is available in beige and navy.

This is not Sarah Jessica Parker’s first fashion line. Since her role as Carrie Bradshaw upped her fashion street cred the star has launched several perfumes and a short lived fashion line. In the spring she will co-host the Costume Institute Gala.

The shoes, marketed under the brand name SJP, will be available at Nordstrom department stores across the country starting February 28. If you are in the New York City area there will be a short lived SJP pop up store located at 372 West Broadway starting at the end of the month and running until March 2, 2014.
