For those wondering how the remake of "Annie" is coming along, but haven't heard a whole lot about it, wonder no more. The first shots of Quvenzhané Wallis as little orphan Annie have hit the net and show just how things have changed in the last 30 years, according to Yahoo Movies on Sept. 25, 2013.
An image of Wallis dressed up as Annie riding a bike appeared online last week, but it has been said that those shots were taken in pre-productions. So they weren't actually frames from the film.
The "Beasts of the Southern Wild" star can now be seen in full costume walking down the street with a backpack on and also meeting up with Benjamin Stacks, played by Jamie Foxx. Stacks is the "Annie" remake's version of Daddy Warbucks. but with more of a hip-hop feel.
The film had its first official day of filming on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in New York. It is being produced by both Jay-Z and Will Smith for a modern-version reboot of the classic musical.
Jay-Z and Will Smith's reboot also stars Rose Byrne as Grace, Benjamin Stacks' assistant, and Cameron Diza as the villainous orphan owner, Miss Hannigan.
"Annie" is set for a release on Dec. 19, 2013. Sony just recently moved the opening date up a week.
