New look for the Twelfth Doctor

New Doctor, new look.

Here is an exclusive look to the Twelfth Doctor's new costume, played by Peter Capaldi.

The exclusive picture, debuted Monday by BBC America, reveals the Time Lord’s new look.

The Twelfth Doctor will have a dark blue Crombie coat, dark blue trousers, a crisp white shirt and black Doc Martens.

Significantly missing? The bow ties worn famously by Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor.

Capaldi replaces Smith who ended his run as the Doctor during the December Christmas special.

Of his outfit, Capaldi commented that, "He's woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100% Rebel Time Lord."

Filming for the series began in early January in Cardiff.

Writer and executive producer Steven Moffatt said, "New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes. Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over - Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you."

Doctor Who is expected to return in August.
