Fans of Brad Pitt waiting for the release of his next film, Cogan's Trade, were given a taste at what to expect from the film over the weekend. The first official still was released on Sunday, and shared by Ace Showbiz on Monday morning. Cogan's Trade is currently in production with a release date to theatres in Scottsdale set for 2012.
In the film, Brad Pitt will play the lead role of Jackie Cogan. He is the man in charge of investigating a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game. The investigation will put him up against the mob. Brad Pitt is known for playing the character involved in the heist usually with a role in the popular Ocean's trilogy with friend George Clooney.
Cogan's Trade began production in March in New Orleans, and it is based on the book of the same name by George V. Higgins. Andrew Dominick is directing the film, and he also adapted the novel to script form. The film also stars Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Javier Bardem, and James Gandolfini. This newly released still features Brad Pitt ready to take someone down with a shotgun in hand.
