On Tuesday morning May 13, Snyder surprised the world by unveiling the batmobile, and Ben Affleck in the new Batsuit.

The Batsuit that will be featured in the Man of Steel sequel is, not surprisingly, inspired by Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns Batman: large Bat insignia, shorter ears, overall the most comic-accurate looking Batman to be featured on the big screen. (On a personal note, the mask and shorter ears remind me of Jim Lee's depiction Batman, maybe it is, or maybe it's a coincidence.)

In addition to the Batsuit, the new Batmobile looks like an amalgamation between the Bat-Tumbler (backside) from the Christopher Nolan movies and Tim Burton's 1989 Batmobile (front). Many fan reactions towards the new Batman related images have been positive. A good example would be long-time Batman fan, director, host of the popular podcast Fatman on Batman, and the first person to hint about Ben Affleck's new Batsuit, Kevin Smith. read his reactions here, his comments may be inappropriate for younger readers. Overall, fans can agree Ben Affleck as Batman and the new Batmobile look incredible. The current image is in black and white, there could still be more to come as the movie draws closer to it's May 2016 release date. Perhaps by Comic-Con we could see more Justice League members in full costume.
