Get ready, Arrow fans; two very important foes for our hero Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) are being unmasked in one very important episode.
Though we have seen Deathstroke before, now we will get to meet the man under his mask in Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), as well as a new, "real world" type villain Cyrus Vanch (David Anders) in "Betrayal."
While Oliver's run-in with Wilson will be on the island, told through flashbacks in this particular episode, Vanch is very much a present-day storyline as he is recently released from prison and intends to re-secure his position as leader of the underworld. Nefarious criminal that he is, his first step is naturally to take down his biggest opponent in the city-- The Arrow.
Meanwhile, Oliver shows Moira (Susanna Thompson) his father’s notebook and questions her about the names on the list; Thea (Willa Holland) is miserable as she starts her internship with Laurel (Katie Cassidy) at the legal aid office; and Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) makes a deadly mistake that puts Laurel in the crosshairs of Vanch.
Series executive producer Marc Guggenheim told us that Oliver's dealings with Vanch in this episode will change the way The Arrow works with Laurel, so keep a special eye out for that, as well.
Arrow airs on The CW on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. "Betrayal" airs on February 6th 2013.
