There are fourteen brand new episodes of The CW's Arrow coming in this new year, but sadly we still have a few weeks to go before we can dive back into the action (and abs) excitement.

"Burned", the first episode up in 2013 will see Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) confidence shaken after being beaten by the Dark Archer (John Barrowman), resulting in him taking a break from being Arrow. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) calls Arrow for help investigating a firefighter’s suspicious death, he reluctantly agrees but his hesitance while fighting almost costs him his life.
Meanwhile, Tommy (Colin Donnell) throws a benefit for the firefighters and Thea (Willa Holland) tries to lift Moira (Susanna Thompson) out of her depressive state.
The CW has released the first look at "Burned" in the promotional photos above. As you will see, the episode has Arrow taking aim against guest star Andrew Dunbar, as well as revisiting his island time. Spoiler Alert: Dunbar is "Firefly," a firefighter who was burned badly on the job and has immense rage because of it. He's the bad guy this time, and Arrow wastes no time turning up the heat on him for that. Prepare for one 'hot' face-off.
... Yeah, we hate ourselves a little for that one...
It seems like this year is getting off on a great foot!
Arrow airs on The CW on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. "Burned" airs on January 16th 2013.
