This season on American Horror Story: Coven, the FX genre-bending horror drama is putting witchcraft front and center with a New Orleans-set storyline that spans generations. However, true to the show's format, witches won't be the only elements offering thrills and scares.
As you can see from the poster just unveiled for the season, AHS: Coven is playing with the imagery of snakes, as well as witchcraft. What can that mean? Well, according to some lore, snakes represent lies, deception, and overall enemies. However, depending on the culture, snakes can also represent transition, healing, or an untapped part of yourself trying to come to life. Could it be a metaphor here for the witches' power coming alive after spending years dormant or hidden?
