A potential future colorway of the Air Jordan 6 leaked on Monday that pays homage to Michael Jordan's habit of smoking cigars as he celebrates another NBA championship. The Air Jordan 6 "Championship Cigar" could potentially one of the biggest and most talked about releases of 2014 if this leaked sample became a reality.
With the Air Jordan 6 set to drop in multiple colorways this year, this new edition pays close attention to the Jordan legend. The Air Jordan 6 were the shoes that he wore when he won his first NBA championship back in 1991 and in what became a tradition after each championship celebration, Jordan would smoke a celebratory cigar for a job well done.
The "Championship Cigar" Air Jordan 6 appears to have a premium textured leather upper that resembles the cigars that Jordan favors and a championship ring lace jewel that replaces the lace lock typically found on the Air Jordan 6. Other details include a red midsole tongue, a translucent outsole and a gold Jordan logo found in the middle of the tongue.
As of now, there is no word on whether this will move beyond the sample phase and into production but with the 23rd anniversary of Jordan's first championship coming up in June of 2014, it would be surprising if there wasn't a tribute of sorts from Jordan Brand one way or another.
